Overview

The Polite and Powerful program is an eight-week program featuring six 90 minute interactive seminars. Students use the skills they've learned during the program's culminating event - a fine dining experience at one of Chicago's premier restaurants. Parents and/or guardians are invited.

The full eight-week program is offered 4 times a year and conducted city-wide.  Workshops are held after-school, Monday-Thursday and consist of 16 females and 16 males. The groups meet separately for 90-mintues two days a week.

Prior to students enrolling parents and or guardians are required to attend a 90-minute reinforcement session. The program focuses on manners, respect and six essential life/social skills. The workshops are interactive, fun and develop the strengths of each student.

During the eight-weeks, four two hour Saturday Family workshops are held and facilitated by a Family Health Consultant.  These special workshops are designed to focuses specifically on developing stronger communication skills within the family. There are no spectators only participants. After each workshop, families break bread by enjoying a meal. At the end of the workshops each family receives a gift card for their participation and cooperation.

PPCF also offers an 8-day “Fast Track” program which highlight each of the six components.
